Candidate Applications

The Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus is accepting applications for the Postgraduate Programme of Studies (MSc) “Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Technologies” for the academic year 2024-25 (starting in October 2024). The MSc in Cybersecurity and AI Technologies (MSc in Cybersecurity and AI Technologies).

Graduates of higher educational institutions (university and technological education) of the domestic territory or equivalent similar institutions of foreign countries are admitted to this MSc.

The selection among the candidates is based on objective criteria and personal interview by a committee of professors.

Applications will be accepted from 26 April to 28 June 10 June to 15 September 2024. Applicants may choose one of the following two alternative ways to complete and submit their applications:

● Completion and submission of the application form through the Electronic Application System “ARISTILLOS” at https://aristyllos.ds.unipi.gr/web/ (suggested method).

● Completion of the application form in MS-WORD format or by hand. Thereafter, and within the above deadline, print (in the case of the MS-WORD file) and sign the application form and, together with the necessary supporting documents, submit it either by registered post or by physical presence. Applications in MS-WORD format and information material are available at https://cybersecurity.ds.unipi.gr/.

Interested parties must submit the following documents:

1. Application form.

2. Biographical note.

3. A copy of your degree or certificate of completion of studies.

4. Certificate of analytical grades, including the degree grade.

5. Certified proof of good knowledge of the English language.

6. Two (2) letters of recommendation

7. Recognition by the DOATAP for those who hold degrees from foreign universities (if available).

8. A copy of your Bachelor’s or Diploma thesis (if completed).

9. Publications in refereed journals (if any)

10. Evidence of professional or research activity (if any)

11. Photocopy of two sides of the identity card

12. One (1) photo.

13. Affidavit (via the service https://www.gov.gr/ or with an attestation of the authenticity of the signature in a KEP, or Police Station in Greece) where the candidate will declare that the documents submitted and deposited in his/her file are true.

General remarks:


● Qualifications in a foreign language at a higher level also demonstrate knowledge of a lower (required) level of the foreign language.
 
● A foreign language teaching licence does not prove foreign language proficiency. Candidates holding the relevant licence shall demonstrate knowledge of a foreign language by one of the specified means of proof of knowledge of a foreign language set out in this Annex.
 
● All foreign language qualifications must be accompanied by an official translation into Greek.


Student Candidate Evaluation Procedure


The evaluation of the candidates of the MSc is carried out by a Candidate Evaluation Committee (CEC) which consists of faculty members of the Department in the MSc.


The evaluation criteria for candidates are as follows:

● Qualifications.
● Grades of qualifications and courses relevant to the subject of the MSc.
● Proficiency in English language.
● Scope and duration of work and research experience.
● Letters of recommendation.
● Interview.

The final lists of admissions and runners-up will be announced by the Secretariat of the MSc.


Tuition fees


The tuition fees of the MSc amount to 4.900€ and are paid in advance (in instalments) to the Research Centre of the University of Piraeus.

The publication of the Government Gazette for the renaming of the MSc from “Digital Systems Security” is expected.
